After morning radio at 99.5 The Rocket, we checked into the Las Cruces, N.M., hotel at 10 a.m. I called the front desk and explained to the girl that we were a rock band that had nowhere to go until 3 p.m. check-in. She had the housekeeping staff clean our rooms first to get us right in.

It's been a whirlwind 24 hours since I write my last blog. We had a really fun time meeting everyone at 95.5 KLAQ in El Paso yesterday. As soon as we arrived, we recorded a segment for a "new music" show with one of the DJs, Ray, that will air on KLAQ on Sunday. It was a -6 windchill in Lubbock last night, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We met Mike Driver at 94.5 FMX yesterday. He was a cool dude in every sense of the phrase. A long time friend of Jesse Dupree, he welcomed us with open arms and we had a great time jamming "Reno," "On My Knees," and "Nobody's Perfect" acoustic on the air.

Texas is freezing!!! The cold air makes it painful to step off the bus! WOW! Everyone always says that we should be used to cold weather, being from Michigan, but it's something I've never gotten used to. There's no coincidence in the fact that we route our tours down South in the winter! Ha ha!

Yesterday, we left Daytona Beach, Fla., and drove all the way to Jackson, Miss. We split up the drive between Tyler, Chip, and Mitch. I spent most of the day responding to emails and planning upcoming shows. Mitch and I are organizing the time we plan to spend in L.A. next week. We'll only have two or three days in a studio, and need to figure out how to make the most out of the time. We have a f

On Sunday, we ended up at a high-rise Super Bowl party that never turned on the game. Ha ha! The view of the Atlantic Ocean from up there was just amazing and most of us never even noticed that the game wasn't on until it was almost over; oops...

Last night was one of those loud, hot and sweaty shows where some people were kicked out before we played for being too drunk. Others were knocked out cold by security, and the stage had 15 floor monitors that didn't work!
