Pop Evil is coming home! To celebrate the release of the band's new album, Pop Evil is playing a special acoustic show and doing an in-store appearance.
RavenEye, a young band from the UK, stopped in Grand Rapids Thursday night for their first show ever here, and the first stop on the tour of the US. They visited us here at GRD earlier in the day, to talk with Janna, and play a song acoustic for us. Then, they hit the Stache for a great show with Coldville, and Product of Society.
Wednesday night, Bleeker came down from Canada with Beware of Darkness for a fun show at the Stache. Both bands had a great time, and the people that came out enjoyed the show!
Friday night, Radkey rocked the Stache with a fun show. For three young guys, one of whom had the sharpie "M" for minor on his hand, they have quite a bit of experience playing live. And they brought it to Grand Rapids.
We love the Intersection! They have a bunch of great shows, they're cool people, and they love to rock! So to hear that they're adding more rooms for shows is freaking awesome to hear. The venue on Grandville is adding two more concert rooms downstairs.
Tuesday night, we hosted our first GRD Christmas Party at the Stache, with tons of cool autographed stuff to give away as Christmas presents, and some great live music! Citizen Zero came over from Detroit to have some fun with us, and one of our very own Grand Rapids bands, Deepfall rocked the show, too!
Hopefully you caught our friends in Citizen Zero on Fox 17 this morning! The guys talked about the new album, and even played some acoustic stuff on TV. Check out their new single, "Lure and Persuade" at the Morning Mix, as well as tonight's show at the Intersection!
On December 20th, WGRD will be hosting our first GRD Christmas Party, at the Stache! The holidays are coming up on us fast, and we want to make sure you get something cool in your stocking, not another lame sweater, or socks. We've got autographed stuff to give away from some of your favorite bands!
The night will also rock with Citizen Zero from Detroit on stage, and great local rock from DeepFal
Saturday night, after Grand Rapids On Tap, I went to the Intersection to check out a great band from Scottish-based rock band The Temperance Movement. These guys visited us last year for an acoustic set, and a show at the Tip Top. I didn't get to see that show, so I was determined to check out this one.
They're a great band, sort of a classic rock, mixed with blues rock and like a gospel feel that
Today, the Sick Puppies stopped by WGRD to perform an acoustic set for a bunch of GRD winners and staff at lunchtime! They're not playing a full show in town until October 3rd at the Stache, but they wanted to come hang out with GRD winners and have some fun.
Highly Suspect's show at the Stache on November 17th was a great show! Yes, it was a bit rainy outside, but that didn't stop people from packing into the front room of the Intersection for a great set with Red Legs and Devin and the Dead Frets!
