Yup, that's right! One lucky West Michigan choir will be on stage with Foreigner when they rock a jam-packed Van Andel Arena on June 11, 2024. On top of that, the band will be giving $500 to the winning school's choir program.

97.9 GRD has a MASSIVE opportunity for you and your school. One of the most iconic rock bands from the '80s, Foreigner (Cold As Ice, Hot Blooded, Urgent), and 97.9 GRD are partnering up to give the opportunity of a lifetime to kids in local choir programs. Foreigner will be having one choir program in the West Michigan area ON STAGE with them during their show at their show at Van Andel Arena on June 11th to sing the hit song “I Want To Know What Love Is” WITH THE BAND

Who Can Enter?

This contest is for any West Michigan junior high, high school, college choir, community youth choir, church youth choir, etc. with 25 kids or less. (This contest is not open to adult choirs.)  By Wednesday, May 15, 2024, we need a video (does not need to be overly professional) of your school's choir singing any Foreigner song. Just know, the song you’d be singing at the show is “I Want To Know What Love Is.” So if this song would be easier for the class, all the better, but it isn’t mandatory.

Your video will be put in another article for our audience and your class’ family to vote for starting Thursday, May 16, 2024. The class with the most votes by Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at noon (12:00 PM EST) will win the "Sing At Van Andel w/ Foreigner" contest. The Winning school will be announced by on the Free Beer & Hot Wings Show on Thursday, May 23, 2024, on 97.9 GRD.

What's the Prize?

The winning choir will sing Foreigner's I Want to Know What Love Is on stage with Foreigner at Van Andel Arena. Foreigner will provide parking and concert tickets for the choir and two chaperones. Additionally, Foreigner will donate $500 to their choir program.
