Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) has been named the No. 1 small airport in the United States in the latest USA Today 10Best Readers Poll. Just last year, the airport earned a runner-up spot, and now it has soared to the very top, just like it did  in 2023.

In July, GRR secured a nearly $2.4 million grant  from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program. U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten helped secure the funding. She said in a statement,

Gerald R. Ford International is a critical economic engine and a gateway to West Michigan. I’m proud to secure nearly $2.4 million to improve airport safety, extend the life of essential infrastructure, and help GRR keep pace with growing demand. These upgrades will help ensure GRR continues to operate safely and efficiently for years to come.
