ArtPrize Clubhouse Moves To Former Bridge St Restaurant

I'm no business expert, but I've always found it odd how some businesses with prime real estate see constant turnover or sit empty. Two examples: the still-vacant Grand Rapids Brewing Company next to Van Andel Arena, and the former Jolly Pumpkin/Pide & Stick spot on Bridge St. Pide & Stick lasted only four months before closing in late 2024 and has now been empty longer than it was open, with signage still intact.

However, if you passed by the building over the weekend, you'll notice there has finally been a change, and the new tenant is one you wouldn't expect but is one you'll want to become acquainted with for Grand Rapids' biggest event of the year.

ArtPrize Clubhouse on Bridge St.

ArtPrize returns for another year from September 18th to October 3rd, with exhibits and festivities taking place around the city across the three-week competition. While venues are spread across the 5 areas of Grand Rapids, the information hub for all things ArtPrize will be at 428 Bridge St NW. It will be open Mon. - Sat. 12 PM to 8 PM, and Sun. 12 PM to 6 PM.

The ArtPrize Clubhouse features event guides, maps, merch, some ArtPrize entries, and more. Last year, the Clubhouse was in the heart of downtown at 40 Pearl Street NW near Stella's Lounge. The signage is still on the building, but this is how it will look once ArtPrize has finished moving in.

Each year, ArtPrize brings nearly a million people from all around the world to Grand Rapids. In a summer that has already seen an uptick in visitors, largely because of the Acrisure Amphitheater, ArtPrize will make for a very busy September.

In its 15th year, ArtPrize continues to draw hundreds of thousands of people to Downtown Grand Rapids to explore the art dispersed throughout the city.
