A place to play "sweet" enough for kids and adults is now open in southeast Grand Rapids!

Giggles & Gourmets play café hosted its grand opening in Grand Rapids' Alger Heights neighborhood Monday, February 10.

While I don't have kids, I think it's an awesome idea to have a café, bakery, and play space for children all in one spot. When my nieces come to visit, we'll definitely have to stop in!

The new business is owned by two sisters, Ashley Rios and Alesha Powers. Ashley is a LLPC therapist who previously worked in private practice serving adults and children. Alesha has a background in culinary arts and previously co-owned another bakery.

For beverage options, you'll find drip coffee, Americano, Espresso, hot chocolate, and signature drinks like Cookie Butter, New York City Cheesecake, White Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, Campfire and more. Giggles & Gourmets offers milk, juice, and tea as well.

Bakery treats include cookies, cinnamon rolls, fudge, cupcakes, and cookies. There's also bagels and croissant sandwiches.

For kids zero to two, the cost for a drop-in session is five dollars, kids three and up is eight dollars. There are monthly and annual membership options too. The space is available for party rentals as well.

Located at 2426 Eastern Ave., Giggles & Gourmets is open Monday through Friday 9a.m. to 4p.m. and 8a.m. to 2p.m. on Saturdays.
