Soon those in Grand Rapids won't have to travel as far to get a longtime bakery's tasty treats!

Ryke's Bakery has been a staple in West Michigan for more than 80 years. The Ryke family opened the first location in Muskegon in 1937.

Since then, Ryke's Bakery has expanded to Grand Haven and Muskegon - and soon to Grand Rapids!

The chain is now owned by Su Hwan Kim and his wife, Joung Suk, along with their three children. The family says they are committed to preserving the bakery’s traditions and maintaining the quality that has made it a household name for decades.

Ryke's Bakery makes baked goodies of all kinds: custom cakes and cupcakes, cheesecakes, doughnuts, pies, dessert bars, and cookies - including their famous Butter Thin Cookies. The locations also have cafes with varying menus serving sandwiches, soups, and salads.

The owners shared to Facebook recently that a new Ryke's Bakery is coming to Grand Rapids!

It will be moving in to 2121 Celebration Dr. NE Suite 650, by Celebration Cinema, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Aldi.

The owners say,

We are looking forward to bringing our products to the Grand Rapids area. We will continue to service Grand Haven, Holland, Muskegon and now Grand Rapids.
