Book-Themed Bakery Coming Soon to West Michigan
Love books and sweets? You're in for a treat. A new bakery combining literature and pastries is opening up in West Michigan soon.
I first learned about Novel Pastries in a post to the Walker Informed Facebook group last year. As an avid reader (and treat lover) I thought it sounded like such a cool idea!

Pastry chef Meghan Jurrians first opened Novel Pastries with her mom, Darci Hoehe, back in 2021 at their home in Ottawa County, according to MLive. Then, this past fall they shared to the Facebook group that they'd be opening their first brick-and-mortar bakery in Marne. The grand opening is almost here!

As Meghan told MLive,
The name combines my passions: baking and books. My goal is to have book-themed desserts and drinks available based on our favorite books.
Novel Pastries is a coffee shop and café as well! Some book-themed drinks you'll find are The Sleepy Hollow Latte (pumpkin spice), The Life of Chai (chai latte), and Narnian Hot Chocolate. There's espresso, cappuccino, and Americano as well.

For baked goods, Novel Pastries will serve cakes, Bundt cakes, truffles, cupcakes, specialty breads and rolls, muffins scones, cookies, and more. Enjoy sandwiches and soups from the deli too!
Of course, you're more than welcome to enjoy a book with your treats as the bakery will have a cozy reading room, decked out with antiques.
The grand opening of Novel Pastries at 14345 Ironwood Dr. in Marne is this Saturday, May 10, 8a.m. to 2p.m. The bakery is also hosting a special Mother's Day High Tea that afternoon starting at 3p.m.
