Entrepreneurs James Gray and Jacob Hagan are behind a new bakery and market downtown Colon.
The two also own Farrand Hall about five minutes away. At the historic 12-acre estate, guests enjoy private dinners created by some of the best chefs in the country. I'd not heard of Farrand Hall before, and it sounds like such a cool concept!

It started with the pair hosting small events to bring life to the 170-year-old stately manor, and eventually growing to what it is today.
In that same spirit of bringing people together and creating unique and memorable experiences, Gray and Hagan have opened Farrand Hall Market and Farrand Hall Bakery. The new businesses are located kitty-corner from one another on East State Street.

Farrand Hall Bakery is a vintage-inspired pastry shop, aiming to blend the nostalgia of the 1940s and 50s with elevated, modern baked goods.
Farrand Hall Executive Chef Ken Miller and Head Baker Stephanie Fish have created a menu with croissants, tarts, cookies, cakes, and other tasty treats. Enjoy coffee there too!
Gray said in a release,
Every town needs a communal spot to grab a coffee, a treat and meet a friend. Farrand Hall is all about community and we’re expanding that notion into everything we do- it's our brand.
Across the street you'll find Farrand Hall Market. The boutique retailer sells local handcrafted, vintage and new items. The space will host workshops too, on cookie decorating, floral arranging, painting, and more!
Both businesses hosted grand openings February 8.
Current hours for the bakery are Fridays and Saturdays 8a.m. to 2p.m. Spring through fall, it'll be open Wednesday through Saturday.
The market is open 10a.m. to 3p.m. on Saturdays. Spring through fall, you'll be able to shop there Wednesday through Friday.
Excited to check them out soon!
