This Lansing Shop’s Phone Number Is Making Waves Online
For many years, I was beyond confused when businesses would put letters in their phone numbers. My kid-mind knew phone numbers were, well, numbers, so when I would see billboards like those "Where are you going? HEAVEN or HELL" where you can dial 83-FOR-TRUTH, I was pretty confused. Imagine my shock when I learned the keypad has letters assigned to it. Whoops.

Traditionally, a business has one phone number assigned to it. However, there is a bakery in Lansing that is making waves online because it seemingly has two numbers. It all comes down to how it's spelled.

Bake N' Cake
Family-owned since it opened in 1983, Bake N' Cakes in Lansing has created custom cakes, cookies, pies, cupcakes, bread, and more, all from scratch. The business's baked goods can create plenty of positive waves whenever someone gets a treat from Bake N' Cakes is not what is getting attention online. Instead, it is because of something that is on the sign that has intrigued people.

Bake N Cake's Double Numbers
Over on the r/mildlyinteresting subreddit, a user posted a photo of the bakery's sign that shows a unique thing that only Bake N' Cake can pull off: having two of the same phone numbers. With a phone number of 337-1153, Bake and Cake can display their phone number as both 337-BAKE and 337-CAKE. It works out perfectly, and they aren't doing anything wrong by putting both on the sign, considering it is the same number.
They can also tell everyone they make cakes too if they want:
337-ABLE, 337-BAKE, 337-CAKE.
It's a fun observation, but it does make you wonder which number people dial more often. I'm team BAKE.
