👇BELOW: 50 BELOVED RETAIL CHAINS THAT NO LONGER EXIST👇

Sierra was founded in Reno, Nevada in 1986. It's now head-quartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As of this year, there are more than 100 Sierra locations across the U.S., with six - soon to be seven - in Michigan.

The fist time I went to a Sierra store it was the location at the Shops at Centerpoint in Grand Rapids -  I was impressed! I love a good deal and it reminded me a lot of TJ Maxx, but for outdoor gear - which makes sense as the retailers are owned by the same parent company, TJX Companies Inc. It also owns Marshalls, Homegoods, Winners, and Homesense.
