I can't believe the news that I got this weekend. I was sitting at a Halloween party dressed as Alice Cooper just scrolling through my phone when I scrolled past a story that I never wanted to see" Static-X Frontman Wayne Static had passed away. Let me start this by saying, "I freaking LOVE Gojira"!  I've been so excited to see this band, I would have paid for tickets to Rock on the Range JUST to see them!   It would have been a weird thing to do, admittedly, buying tickets to a huge show for only one band, and I still would have checked out as many as I did ... but you get what I'm saying. A couple of the bands that had originally been scheduled to play Rock on the Range 2014 had to pull out of the festival.  Sadly, Motorhead was one of them.  Lemmy's had a lot of health issues this last year or so, and they're taking things a little slow so he can get better...

The final day of Rock on the Range 2014 was much warmer and less rainy than days one and two, which a lot of people really enjoyed!  The bands loved the weather, but really enjoyed the thousands of people that crowded their stages and partied really hard with them on Sunday, May 18th!  The crowd showed no signs of slowing down on the third full day of shows, and crowd-surfed and moshed all day! You are about to stand on your feet for about the next 10 hours of the day rocking out to awesome bands. Eating at Rock on the Range can get quite expensive for a small amount of food. One of my traditions for the festival is to eat at Waffle House, this time though, it didn't turn out the best for us.

I could be considered a Rock on the Range Hipster by saying, "I was going to Rock on the Range before it was cool." Before this huge festival sold out 2 years in a row, I was attending it when you could still walk up to the ticket booth and purchase tickets. I have been listening to Full Metal Jackie for what seems like years now. Strangely enough, I have talked to her through phone chatter, email, and even Facebook. At Rock on the Range this past weekend, the METAL WORLDS COLLIDED as we had to snap a picture of a Metal God (Yea right...) and Metal Goddess!

Day 2 of Rock on the Range was another huge day, and the largest attended day for Rock on the Range in it's entire history.  Tons of bands hit the stage, and I got photos of as many of them as I could catch. Professional photography is not my thing. The only actual camera I have is on my phone. I did get this certain phone because of it's megapixel amount though. While hanging out in the Avenged Sevenfold meet and greet, I noticed this cute little dog. Little did I know, this dog belonged to Synester Gates of A7X, and an opportunity presented itself.

As a media guy at Rock on the Range, Johnnie Walker and I got to meet a lot of different performers. Here is just a couple more that I was able to meet on this massive weekend!
