You may have seen this band locally around Grand Rapids, or even more likely at Grand Rapids' Festival of the Arts last year. Local neo-classical female fronted band Aria Flame will be making a trek across the world to the Netherlands to perform in the annual FemME Female Metal Event this October!

All eyes have been on the shows coming to the Van Andel Arena, The Orbit Room, The Intersection and The Stache. There is another kick-ass venue though that rocks Grand Rapids, and that is the The Pyramid Scheme. It is about to host one awesome metal show: Sepultura.

Tenacious D took home a Grammy for "Best Hard Rock/ Metal Performance" for its cover of the Dio's "The Last In Line", from the "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life" tribute album, beating out Slipknot, Mastadon, Motorhead, and Anthrax. Metalachi. They call themselves the "first and only" mariachi band that plays metal songs. And, so far, they're right! I saw them in El Paso quite a while back, and they're a riot! They may not dress like a typical Mariachi band, but they play like one, but instead of those crazy Mexican polkas, they rock Dio, Sabbath, Quiet Riot, Ozzy, and more!

Even MORE concerts are coming to the Grand Rapids area! It sure seems like May is once again going be called the Loudest Month of the Year. I would like to call Grand Rapids in the month of May: Grand Rapids Rock City. To close out the month of rock, will be Ministry at The Intersection.

There are concerts galore. We have so many great concert announcements popping up here and there, it's hard to keep track of all of them. If you want metal, you've got it. Testament, Exodus, and Shattered Sun are returning to the Intersection in Grand Rapids on April 13.

The 2015 WGRD Heavyweights are in full stride at The Stache in Grand Rapids! Local metal bands from across West Michigan are bringing their A-game to The Stache and playing for your vote! The votes will be tallied and each night a band will be chosen to move onto the finals! Take a look at this contender from the third night, Exitvia!

I may just have to take a quick road trip to check out this show. Not only am I a big Mushroomhead fan, but I love Dope. Also on this bill is freakin' DOYLE! How could I miss this? Simple, I can't.
