Tenacious D took home a Grammy for "Best Hard Rock/ Metal Performance" for its cover of the Dio's "The Last In Line", from the "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life" tribute album, beating out Slipknot, Mastadon, Motorhead, and Anthrax.

The reaction was kind of like, "huh?" considering most see Tenacious D as a comedy rock duo, not what most consider "Metal".

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian shares his thoughts on Tenacious D's win and the Grammys as a whole.

Anthrax was was nominated for its own contribution to "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life",  a cover of the Black Sabbath's "Neon Knights".

Blabbermouth shares Ian's interview with Artisan News, which you can watch above.

Ian said,

"The Grammys mean… What do they mean less to me than? The Grammys mean nothing to me. I really don't pay attention. If anyone has a problem with Tenacious winning the Grammy, don't complain about them, complain about the Grammys. Jack Black loves Ronnie James Dio."

One hundred percent of proceeds from "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life" go to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.

Here is Tenacious D's Grammy winning contribution.
