Upheaval Festival rocked Grand Rapids July 15 and 16, 2022! Fans from all over came for an incredible two days of rock and metal with Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Theory of a Deadman, Mudvayne, Avatar, Hatebreed, and more at Belknap Park - and one couple came all the way from Oregon to celebrate their honeymoon!

Michael and Molly Wadlow got married in Coos Bay, Oregon, July 2, 2022, surrounded by friends and family.

As for why they chose to spend their honeymoon at Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Mich., they say,

We both love Mudvayne, and never been able to see a live show. Honestly, it all just came together so well, timing of the festival, we had never been to the state, so many other amazing bands we had also never seen live would be there, AND we were able to afford the 2-day VIP package thanks to the payment plan. So we thought spending our honeymoon at a badass rock/metal festival would be perfect for us!!

They even commemorated the trip with matching Upheaval tattoos!

The pair got the tattoos in advance of the festival, on Valentine's day 2022. Molly shares,

Every year Michael and I get tattoos on Valentine’s Day. Not matching or anything specific…just a tattoo we each want. Our guy Jay has been tattooing us for this awesome tradition the last couple of years. I had been wanting knuckle tattoos and was trying to decide on a word….I thought of our wedding, our honeymoon plans… Upheaval fit!! Michael and I thought it was romantic for V-day to get “Upheaval 22” tattoos!

So did Mike and Molly enjoy their honeymoon? It sure sounds like it! Molly says about seeing Mudvayne live for the first time,

It was truly our highlight, Michael pointed at Chad Gray and he pointed back. That moment we will never forget.

A LOT of people shared that sentiment about Mudvayne's performance at Upheaval Festival. They were a fan favorite for sure!

Molly says of their Upheaval Festival honeymoon,

It was an unforgettable experience!!! We have so many memories we made while we were there! We caught a guitar pick from Mudvayne and a Pabst from Theory, scored some awesome NEW Mudvayne merchandise, decided Michigan has the best pizza ever!!! Upheaval brought us to Michigan, and we can’t wait to see what Upheaval 2023 brings!!!!
