What Was Your Favorite Band At The Upheaval Festival?
I asked people in the crowd and on Facebook, who their favorite band was that performed at the 2022 Upheaval Festival, and here's what fans had to say.
Upheaval 2022 at Belknap Park
As you can see the Upheaval 2022 lineup was incredible but so were the performances on both stages on both days of the event. There was only one artist change in the lineup above and that was Nita Strauss dropping off the bill to be replaced by Diamante.
I have been involved in major rock festivals for over 25 years and there is a good thing going with Upheaval. Year one was a great start, but in year two Upheaval has really stepped up its game and has become an event that is worth being at when the gates open until they close.
Who Were the Fan's Favorite Bands at Upheaval 2022?
It is always great going up to random people at a festival and just asking the question who was your favorite band at the event. Depending on who you ask may determine your answer but after doing that for two days it was pretty clear there were a few bands that were fan favorites.
It was pretty clear after polling fans that Mudvayne was the clear favorite of the weekend. That being said, there were other bands that fans had great things to say about.
Avatar performed on the Lookout Stage and brought a unique performance only they can provide. Very entertaining and this band could have easily been on the main stage and odds are they will be the next time they are at Upheaval.
Nothing More closed out the Lookout Stage on day two of Upheaval. This was an incredible performance that even had the Butcher Babies crowd surfing while they performed. More fans climbed that hill at Belknap Park for Nothing More than any other band all weekend and everyone agreed it was worth the climb. One of the most epic moments of the weekend was when the guy in the wheelchair crowd surfed and when he and his chair went over the barricade, Jonny Hawkins the lead singer of Nothing More was there to greet him and let him sit in the photo pit for the rest of the show.
Who Did Facebook Fans Say Was Their Favorite at Upheaval?
As you can see on WGRDs Facebook page Mudvayne, Avatar, and Nothing More is a common thread.
Michigan's own Heartsick really impressed some fans as did Starset, Theory but Three Days Grace really made a statement when following Hatebreed who had an impressive showing. This was one of the most commanding performances from Three Days Grace since singer Matt Walst took over fronting the band.
Fans in Grand Rapids love Disturbed who were the perfect band to put the icing on the cake of a great weekend.
