This morning, Frederik Meijer Gardens announced plans for growth and improvements totaling $115 million. The plans would bring changes and additions throughout Meijer Gardens, including many upgrades to the popular amphitheater.

Today on Segment 16, the guys announced a ton of shows for the new music venue, 20 Monroe Live, that opens on February 1, 2017. Lots of great shows, including Shinedown, Pop Evil, Primus, and more!

Today on Segment 16, the guys talk about the new downtown concert venue being built next door to the radio station and the BOB. There's a lot of talk about the new venue, and their teaming up with Live Nation and House of Blues to schedule shows.

The Fifth Third Bank Summer Concert Series at Frederik Meijer Gardens sold out 21 of their 30 concerts on the first day. A few more sold out shortly after, but after tickets went on sale for the public on May 14, Meijer Gardens added additional tickets for some sold out shows.

I have to listen sort of critically to things for my job, so I've really begun to think about my ears in the last few years. I bought a decent pair of ear protectors to try and help keep from going deaf from all the concerts I go to. I love live music, but when it's really loud, it can damage your ears. Even worse, if the sound guy does a bad job, then it can REALLY destroy your hearing.

I have been listening to music for my entire life, like pretty much everyone else in the world, and been listening to metal and rock for a majority of it. Over 200 concerts later, it turns out my favorite ones are the one with a show. I'm talking like explosions, pyro, masks, makeup, etc.

Every year I head to Rock on the Range. So I speak from experience when I say that it's something that you need to prepare for, especially when you are on budget.
