I have been listening to music for my entire life, like pretty much everyone else in the world, and been listening to metal and rock for a majority of it.

Over 200 concerts later, it turns out my favorite ones are the one with a show. I'm talking like explosions, pyro, masks, makeup, etc.

I've seen so many damn concerts, I'm surprised that I am not deaf yet.

Just to name a few...Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Iced Earth, Sabaton, KISS, Aerosmith, Rob Zombie, Puddle of Mudd, Green Day, Bowling for Soup, Huntress, Arch Enemy, GWAR, Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch, and so many more.

What do most of those bands above have?

A show.

Makeup, bombs...theatrics!

The first concert I ever saw was KISS and I was hooked. Just the show was amazing and I loved the music. The show just amplified the music for me. Don't get me wrong, if your band doesn't have a theatrics, that's fine as the music speaks for itself. For me though, I need something visual...I have always been a VERY visual person. That's probably why I appreciate video games and movies over books so much. [Sorry wife...]

KISS' Gene Simmons always says, "KISS has always been a band that is meant to give you bang for the buck."

The first time I ever saw Rob Zombie was at the Orbit Room. It was during his filming of 'The Devil's Rejects.' Sold out show, and I had fun. However, I heard Zombie was all about the show! At the Orbit Room, I got none of that. No creatures on stage, no pryo, barely even a light show! I was slightly disappointed with the show because I had grown to expect so much from him, and I only got Rob, not Rob Zombie.

It probably also has to do with me wanting to be an actor. When I was in high school, I was more of a theater person than a jock. I loved getting on stage, entertaining, making people laugh, cheer, and yell. It's like a sick addiction that I can't get enough of.

I'm not saying you have to have a show in order for me to enjoy your band, but on the other hand I kind of am. Because of shows like KISS, Mushroomhead, GWAR, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, etc...it drives me to buy a ticket and not really care about the price of admission, because I know I am gonna get something that's more than just some guy standing up there and singing into a microphone.

KISS drove that mentality into my brain and if you ever saw me perform live, introduce a band, or even speak into a microphone, you'll quickly notice that I keep true to that.

More bang for the buck, words to live by.
