Metallica not to long ago made a collaborative album with Lou Reed named 'LuLu.' This album brought up a TON of controversy upon Metallica fans calling them anything from Non-Metal to Sell outs even. Metallica (all the controversy aside...) still brings the metal all around the world. Rob Flynn of Machinehead on the other hand, absolutely hates 'Lulu' and Lou Reed himself!

In an interview with MetalShrine:

"I didn't even get it. If those guys need to do that stuff to get their ya-yas out, that's cool and I respect them, but was Lemmy not available? Was Iggy Pop not available? I think there are so many people that might've been a better choice. I don't know the dude , but maybe he's the most charismatic guy in the world, I don't know. I can't stand Lou Reed. I don't like his solo career and I don't like The Velvet Underground, so I don't know much about it other than 'Walk On The Wild Side'.

In my opinion, LuLu was not a good album. Some people liked it, a lot of people hated it. I'm all about diving into different genres when it comes to music, but I have to agree with Flynn...they could have found someone to work with that is more their style. Again though, maybe Metallica needed this in order to get back what they do best...CREATE MORE METAL!
