My throwback Thursday goes back to 2000, when I finally got to meet some of my metal heroes.  Iron Maiden was hitting the road with Queensryche and Rob Halford's solo band, and I took a week of so I could follow them around and hit 5 shows.

I caught the San Antonio, El Paso, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Irvine shows that tour, and remember being super excited, since two of my favorite singers ever were touring together; Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson!

Iron Maiden was hitting the road to support their amazing "Brave New World" album, and Halford had just released his "Resurrection" album, where he came back to metal after a break.

Being a huge fan of both bands since I was a wee tyke, of course I did the whole road trip thing to see the shows, but then I also go the chance to meet both Halford and Maiden at the El Paso show!

They were all really good people, and signed stuff, took photos, and hung out as long as they could before having to go on stage and destroy, as they always do.

So these are my fan pics of me with Rob and Bruce from back in the day.  What was your favorite band meet?  Was it everything you hoped for?

And yes, my hair used to be really long, and yes, I do miss it.
