Donkey Kong has been around since what seems like the dawn of time. It is one of the biggest games of all time. Donkey Kong has and always will be a key character in the Nintendo world. The original Donkey Kong was not an easy game...crawling up ladders and saving your girlfriend. Then SNES came around and BLEW OUR MINDS with this amazing game!

What: You play as Donkey Kong and his pal Diddy Kong. King K. Rool has stolen Donkey Kongs banana horde!  Donkey and Diddy must team up to take back the bananas!

Why: So many reasons, where do I begin? The platforming is solid, the game play is stellar, and the game is overall fun. All of that aside though, this game defined the graphic capability of the Super Nintendo.

While Sega was unleashing all of these add ons for the Sega Genesis (aka Sega 32X and Sega CD), they were trying to be the most powerful graphic machine on the market! In the end though, you could either buy this 32X system for $150 and get some really bad games, or just simply buy a Super Nintendo for way cheaper, and get WAY BETTER GAMES. Donkey Kong Country basically broke the back of Sega with it's really nice looking graphics for the time and the game still holds up really well today. Nintendo did release a new DKC game for Wii named Donkey Kong Country Returns, and it was awesome, but just not as groundbreaking as the first DKC was. If you have a SNES, you need to own this game.
