BlizzCon is coming up this year and everyone is really excited about Warcraft, Starcraft, etc. Before there was the juggernaut that was WoW or Starcraft, there was this game that Blizzard released on home consoles that just kicked ass. It hasn't been looked at for years, and if they rebooted this game, that would be pretty awesome.

What: In Blackthorne you play as some dude named Kyle. He is a bad ass with a shotgun. You, as the bad ass Kyle rome through the planet named 'Tuul,' where Kyle was originally from. It was fortold one day that Kyle would return to save the people of Tuul from the evil Sarlac. If this isn't pure Blizzard lore, I don't know what is.

Why: It's a pretty unique platforming game. There are times where I do get a little frustrated with the controls, but once you get the hang of them, you'll be all right. One of the fun things in this game is the hiding aspect. If you press 'up' on the D pad, Kyle will lean against the wall to avoid gun fire. Then when the enemies guard is down, you can come back out and shoot your enemy! That was pretty awesome for the time that this game came out! The game plays very much like the old Prince of Persia games, if not exactly like it. One last thing that was awesome about this game, the ability to shoot behind your back. Kyle looked so bad ass when you would just press Y and he would just put his gun aimed behind his back and shoot. No turning around and aiming, just shoot whatever!

If you owned this game on PC, you were treated with blood. However, if you played it on SNES, no blood.

This was the ONLY Blackthorne game that has ever been released and as far as I am concerned, there are no plans for a remake or sequel. Maybe it should just stay that way.
