Sunday night, the Red Hot Chili Peppers returned to Grand Rapids, and they brought and amazing experience with them! Not only did we get the hits, but we also got a cool show, with moving lights extending out over the crowd, and moving video screens behind the band.
Monday night, Volbeat returned to Grand Rapids for a headlining show at 20 Monroe Live, and brought Dallas thrashers Power Trip with them. It was a crushing show, both bands kicked ass.
Monday afternoon, Letters From the Fire stopped by GRD to talk with Janna, and play a couple songs acoustic to get everyone ready for the night's Seether concert at 20 Monroe Live. Really good band, and things have changed within their ranks since the last time they came through Grand Rapids.
Saturday night's crowd might have seemed a little weird if you don't know anything about Primus, since they were chanting "Primus Sucks" throughout the night. Or, as Les described in a story about Stewart Copeland, maybe they were chanting "Primus Up".
Last night, Soundgarden rocked a sold out crowd at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. No one could know that show would be Chris Cornell's last ever performance. He died late last night, details still unknown.
Today, we got a special visit from Beware of Darkness, before their show with Bleeker at The Stache. Kyle played a few songs acoustic, and talked with Janna about the band, touring, and shared some deep thoughts on life, music, and everything.
Friday night, Radkey rocked the Stache with a fun show. For three young guys, one of whom had the sharpie "M" for minor on his hand, they have quite a bit of experience playing live. And they brought it to Grand Rapids.
Sunday night, April 30th, Breaking Benjamin hit 20 Monroe Live with Red for a completely sold out show! Both bands kicked ass for the crowd, and people packed in early to see both bands. Check out video from both bands!
On Saturday night, Pop Evil returned home for a packed show to help wrap up their tour for their latest album. They brought along some friends, Badflower, and Kaleido for the show.

Tuesday night, we hosted our first GRD Christmas Party at the Stache, with tons of cool autographed stuff to give away as Christmas presents, and some great live music! Citizen Zero came over from Detroit to have some fun with us, and one of our very own Grand Rapids bands, Deepfall rocked the show, too!
