Avatar is a cool Swedish metal band that's beginning to break through here in the US with their song "The Eagle Has Landed", from the new album Feathers and Flesh. They're out on tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat, and we were lucky enough to get them into the studio to tell us funny stories! The guys are really funny.

Wednesday night, Killswitch Engage hit the big stage at the Van Andel Arena, while on tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, and Avatar. They didn't waste any time, and plowed through a heavy set, keeping the crowd screaming, surfing, and moshing throughout.

Avatar comes back to Grand Rapids on September 13th, with Gemini Syndrome, and First Decree, to rock the Intersection. Last year, I saw Avatar for the first time, at Rock on the Range. And yes, every time I'd heard the band name before seeing their videos, I always pictured them as super tall blue people playing guitars. (I'm easily influenced by the media.)
