What if there was a magical elixir to cure the ills of the world? Avatar may have stumbled upon something in their new video for "The Eagle Has Landed," but as we see in the Johan Carlen-directed clip, what appears to first be magical has some pretty wicked side effects.

The clip centers on frontman Johannes Eckerstrom as he leaves his group of fellow salesmen, packs his bag and sets out on a journey where he meets a small young woman struggling to reach the fruit on the top of a tree, a fragile elderly man who dreams of being a bodybuilding brut and a young couple sharing a romantic picnic together. But as we soon find out, Eckerstrom's cure all does not exactly do the trick. Watch it all play out in the video above.

Eckerstrom says, "During the past few months I've ended up saying 'this is our most ambitious work to date' quite a bit, but this one takes the cake. While still keeping it in the family we've created yet a new universe for everyone to get immersed in. A fable is a metaphor to explore the human condition and we've taken it one step further, zooming in on one song and what it has to say in and out of itself beyond the frames of the concept of Feathers & Flesh."

He adds, "This is the story of five conmen traveling around the land, selling their snake oil to the easily persuaded people of the soil. Often when we want karma to bite someone's ass the most, they always seem to get away. It was fun to play the bad guy for once. I think the visuals and our treatment of the classic one take-concept speaks for itself. This is one of those you'll want to watch over and over again. I know I'm already doing just that. Enjoy!"

"The Eagle Has Landed" will appear on the band's new album, Feathers & Flesh, which drops in stores this Friday (May 13). Check out a variety of pre-order bundles at the band's website. And look for the band on tour this spring in support of the album. Their dates can be found here.
