If I saw a tiger in someone's backyard I'd probably squeal with joy and then try to make it my best friend.

I'm not saying it's a good idea--  I just love kitties! And I'd probably make a bad decision regarding a big, wild cat because I'd just want to snuggle with it.

Anyway. Animal control got called to a yard in Grand Rapids because this very thing happened. Except the tiger was actually a stuffed animal.

WZZM -13 reports someone called animal control on Thursday May 28, to report a tiger in the backyard of a home on GR's southwest side.

Two Kent County Animal Control officers responded to the call and quickly learned what they were dealing with: a toy.

According to the Kent County Animal Shelter's Facebook page, it looks like they had some fun with it!

Today ACO Jensen & ACO Supervisor Dainelis responded to a report of a TIGER in someone's backyard on the SW side of GR!...

Phew! We're safe! To be fair, that's a pretty realistic looking toy...  and now I want my own life-size tiger stuffed animal!

Sounds like I'm not the only one! The Kent County Animal Shelter posted an update to Facebook:

"This story is getting lots of media attention! No decision has been made on who can 'adopt' the Tiger... we're holding it for safe-keeping and giving it a bath today!!!!"
