Visitors to John Ball Zoo this summer will meet a new arrival, Mabelle, a female Amur tiger who has come to Grand Rapids from the Columbus Zoo.

There's nothing scary about this!

If I saw a tiger in someone's backyard I'd probably squeal with joy and then try to make it my best friend. I'm not saying it's a good idea--  I just love kitties! And I'd probably make a bad decision regarding a big, wild cat because I'd just want to snuggle with it. Anyway. Animal control got called to a yard in Grand Rapids because this very thing happened.
