During the rain storms on Sunday, March 30, 2025, a poster on the Grand Rapids Reddit page filmed mysterious rainbow colored water flowing down the Grand River. The poster also mentioned a strong chemical smell and asked fellow Michiganders where this smelly rainbow water originated. Below is what they had to say:
My guess the rainbow colored water was an oil or gas slick, but I can't explain the chemical smell.
These first couple of Reddit posters have lived in the area for a long time and are aware of these pumpjacks.
