Lake St. Clair is globally renowned for its world-class smallmouth bass fishery. Its expansive shallow flats, abundant aquatic vegetation, aquatic vegetation and a large forage base, especially invasive round gobies, create ideal conditions for trophy-sized fish. As a result, anglers regularly catch smallmouth bass weighing five to six pounds or more.

Lake St. Clair also supports a strong largemouth bass population, making it an excellent destination for anglers of all skill levels. Fish commonly range from three to five pounds, while larger “hogs” occasionally reach six to seven pounds, offering plenty of opportunity for trophy catches.
