Every year, millions of people make the New Year resolution to lose weight...I think we've all been there.  But they usually don't last very long into the year, and you end up doing the same thing the next year.

Here are some interesting food lies that might be holding you back from losing weight...I know they're holding me back!

You can find a more complete list here.

All calories are the same

Nope! Kind of like cholesterol, there are good calories and bad calories. Unfortunately, my favorite calories (soda) are in the bad category list, which makes me sad. Sugar calories make you store more fat and crap, protein and fat calories make you burn fat.

Losing weight too fast is bad, and you'll put it all back on

Apparently, you need a complete detox from the crap, and this will give you a quick weight loss. Once you change your brain chemistry, you'll be more likely to stick with the weight loss plan.

Eating fat makes you fat

Good news! Fat is good for you! The trick is to eat a higher fat diet, with lower sugars, instead of a low fat, high sugar diet. The right fats keep our metabolism going, and help with weight loss.

Milk is good for you

Only if you happen to be an actual cow. It spikes your insulin, leads to diabetes and cancer, and is all around a horrible thing to put in yourself...unless you're a calf.

Exercise is the key to weight loss

It's all about the diet. Do you know how much exercise you'd have to do to burn off a happy meal? You'll be running all week to burn that off. My doctor told me a few years ago, that the secret to weight loss is all about what you eat. Exercise is just for toning.

Hopefully, if you're making a weight loss resolution, some of these things will help you stick to it this year, and get into the best shape of your life in 2015!
