Oh right-- Silverchair. Whatever happened to them?

Well, lead singer Daniel Johns appeared in Sydney, Australia, last weekend at Triple J's Beat The Drum music festival.

For an audience of about 25,000, he covered Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," turning it into a slow piano ballad accompanied by a harp.

Prior to his "Beat The Drum" appearance, Johns hinted on Facebook that he may be releasing new music this month. He posted what looks like cover art along with a release date.

Silverchair has been inactive since announcing an "indefinite hibernation" in 2011. The band's last album was 2007's "Young Modern".

In case you're like, wait, who's Silverchair? Here's "Anthem for the Year 2000" from its third album, "Neon Ballroom," which was released in 1999.
