Um, Rude – Michigan is Among the Top Ten Most Hated States

Hey America, what did Michigan ever do to you? You're telling me you don't even like the Great Lakes, Faygo, Coney Dogs, or any of the other awesome stuff the Mitten State has to offer?

This seems like more of a "the call is coming from inside the house" situation...

Career website Zippia sought to find the most unlikable states nationwide.

Zippia used three major points in developing their conclusions:

• The percent of residents who told Gallup their state is the “worst possible state to live in”
• The states with the biggest decrease in population
• Nationwide, the number of other states who say they hate a state the most

Michigan did not fare well... and it turns out the people who hate it the most are Michiganders.

Zippia found that Michigan is the 7th most hated state.

Here's a breakdown of Zippia's findings for Michigan:

• Population Decrease: -0.09%
• % Of Residents Who Say It’s Worst State: 9%
• States That Hate It: 1

Now, Zippia doesn't say what the one state is that hates us... but I'd be willing to bet it's Ohio.

Though Ohio didn't do too much better than Michigan. According to Zippia, it's the 12th most hated state.

The No. 1 most hated state is ALSO in the Midwest: Illinois.

Here are Zippia's findings for Illinois:

• Population Decrease: -0.54%
• % Of Residents Who Say It’s Worst State: 25%
• States That Hate It: 1

Overall, the state most hated by other states is California, as 9 states say it’s the worst.

On the flipside, the states that are hated the least are:

1. Colorado
2. Utah
3. Montana
