Mayhem Festival Promoter Has Approached Pantera for a Reunion

Here's a bad idea:

The producer behind the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival has approached the surviving members of Pantera about reuniting, to 'get them out there'. He thinks it would be totally 'bad ass'...and people would have a chance to see Pantera, and of course he would make a s***-ton of money selling tickets.

I know, a lot of people never got to see Pantera during their heyday, and would really like a chance to see them. I totally get it.

But guess what? It's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!

Even if this guy did convince the guys to get together and do a tour, IT'S NOT PANTERA WITHOUT DIME! End of story.

It doesn't matter who you get to play guitar, I'm not going. A lot of people who love Pantera won't go. And yes, I know a lot of people who never got to see them would go, but they'd come away from the show STILL never having seen Pantera.

Pantera was Dime, Vinny, Rex, and Phil. It will always be those four guys, first of all, and there's no other way you can have them all back on stage together. Get over it.

Second of all, Vinny still has a lot of anger and resentment toward Phil, and will not be on board for a reunion with someone he does not like. They don't talk, they don't have any kind of relationship at this point, so getting together for a tour is unlikely.

Buy the DVDs, watch the hell out of them, and move on.
