It's been quite some time since we've heard anything new from Avenged Sevenfold. The last album released by the band was 2010's Nightmare. Fans can now rejoice as A7X have unleashed a brand new track for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II video game entitled "Carry On." Scroll down to the bottom of the page and listen for yourself.

The song contains the usual frantic metal framework that Avenged Sevenfold are known for. The beginning of "Carry On" actually sounds a little bit like System of a Down a la "Chop Suey." "Some people live their selfish desires," vocalist M. Shadows sings. "Some choose to shout when they speak."

This is the second year in a row Avenged Sevenfold have contributed a song to the Call of Duty franchise. The metal outfit recorded the track "Not Ready to Die" for the Escalation DLC pack for the first Black Ops title in May of 2011. M. Shadows has stated in the past how much of a huge gamer he is.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II has recruited an impressive roster of musical guests so far. Aside from A7X's contribution, Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor has composed the theme for the title. ”I have always looked to that franchise as the cutting edge of what seemingly unlimited budgets and full-on not cutting any corners can do in the current day and age,” Reznor said in an interview.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is due out November 13 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and on November 18 as a launch title for the new Nintendo Wii U console.
