Many football fans in Michigan have several food traditions for their Super Bowl party.

I like to have what I call the "Bluegill Bowl." Before the game starts, I get my bluegills that I caught ice fishing battered up and ready. Near the end of the 2nd quarter of the game, I heat the fryer grease so it is ready to go at halftime. Have all my sides ready to go then fry the fish. Set up my plates and I'm eating when the 3rd quarter begins. Because of the lack of ice last year and this year, I may have to find another alternative or drive north this weekend to find some hard water to catch a mess of gills.

#10 Cheese and Crackers

Probably the easiest of all Super Bowl snacks good old cheese and crackers comes in at number 10 on the list. I like venison summer sausage with my cheese and crackers and for some hunter households, I'm sure it's a Michigan mainstay.

 #9 Pizza

I thought pizza would be further up on the list since most people order their pizza rather than bake their own.  Plus, there are a ridiculous amount of pizza commercials and specials advertised leading up to the big game. I enjoyed pizza during the last two Lions playoff games from my favorite hometown pizza joint called the Red Devil in Holly, Michigan.

#8 Fries

To be honest, I am shocked that fries are higher up Michigander's top 10 list of Super Bowl snacks. There are tons of different ways to make fries but unless you eat them when they are done, they will get cold fast but to each their own.

#7 Popcorn

Popcorn is easy to make and it's not too bad cold or out of a store-bought bag. Popcorn goes great with anything on TV and will hold off your hungry guests until the main course of your Super Bowl party is served.

#6 Chicken Wings

There are so many options of flavors of chicken wings and most people love chicken so not surprised wings are on the list, but, like pizza, I thought wings would be higher on the list. If I don't catch any bluegills this weekend it will probably be wings from the smoker for my Super Bowl spread.

  #5 BBQ Ribs

If you have a bunch of carnivores coming to your Super Bowl party you can't go wrong with slabs of BBQ ribs. You can order out from your favorite BBQ restaurant or fire up your grill, smoker, or even the oven to treat your guests with a meaty Super Bowl plate.

#3 Cookies

For those with a sweet tooth, you can't go wrong with having a nice display of cookies at your Super Bowl party. During last week's playoff games, my mom pulled out some cookies she baked and if I am back for the Super Bowl I suspect there may be more.

 #2 Chips n' Dip

There are endless possibilities when it comes to chips n' dip. I am sure there are plenty of Michiganders with some great dip recipes and the chip options at the stores are insane. If you are visiting at someone's Super Bowl party, it's always a good idea to bring a chip and dip you like just in case the host has some weird recipe you don't like. Plus they are cheap and easy.

#1 Burgers

Michiganders' number one choice for Super Bowl snacks is burgers. They are easy to make. Your guests can decorate their own with their favorite condiments and burgers can be easily made during halftime so you don't miss a second of game time. Making burgers also gives dads a reason to roll the grill out and fire it up in the winter.

The list was put together by Gambling.com which recently conducted a study to find out each state's favorite Super Bowl snacks.
