Despite hopeful talk of Guns N' Roses returning to the road soon, guitarist DJ Ashba confirms the band is on hiatus, according to VH1

Ashba told the Las Vegas Sun,

“Ever since I joined GNR six years ago, it’s almost been non-stop touring. But we’ve kind of talked of more touring, and I’m looking at this more as a hiatus than the end.”

Though the band is on break, Ashba is hopeful the band will play together again. “I’ve got his back whenever he needs me,” he says of Axl.

In February, Ashba told Rock Reflected, “We were talking about doing another huge tour. Our main focus right now is putting together the next Guns record. We’ve got tons of material — it’s just a matter of sitting down and sifting through all the pieces. It looks like we’re going to be doing a lot more touring.”

Ashba himself has been busy with Sixx: AM who embarked on their first headlining tour this month.

While a Guns N' Roses tour seems to be on hold, what about that new album Ashba mentioned?

GNR keyboardist Dizzy Reed confirmed the existence of new material and progress with a new album, in an interview with Backstage Axxes saying, “Last I heard, there’s a lot of music that has been recorded, a lot of stuff that’s done, a lot of stuff that’s almost done, and I think it’s just a matter of picking out which songs are gonna come out in the next phase. And last I heard, that’s what was happening. The main thing is, when it’s ready to come out, it’ll come out.”

In addition, Axl Rose himself confirmed the existence of two new albums: one album as a sort of "part two" to 2008’s Chinese Democracy, and another a remix of that album.
