Deftones have entered the world of craft beer. The multiplatinum legends will soon release a signature India Pale Ale named after the Gore track “Phantom Bride.”

A ton of rock and metal bands have teamed up with breweries to create signature beers. Some have seen a wide release, such as Iron Maiden’s Trooper Ale, while handfuls of acts have teamed with companies like 3 Floyds to brew limited edition drinks that have received extreme acclaim.

Deftones have teamed with San Diego’s Belching Beaver Brewery for Phantom Bride IPA, a hoppy West Coast style beer loaded up with Mosaic, Amarillo, Simcoe and Citra hops. The ingredients were handpicked by Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, who knows a thing or two about libations. "Really excited to see our Phantom Bride IPA hit the shelves,” says Chino. “As a huge beer connoisseur it was a privilege collaborating with Belching Beaver on the flavor profiles and coming out with a beer that I would put right up with any of my favorites. Good stuff!"

Phantom Bride IPA celebrates its official release on Oct. 3. Belching Beaver has already shipped the brew to stores in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii and California. If you’re in the area, look out for Phantom Bride 22-oz. bottles wherever craft beer is sold along with online retailers like BevMo.

A special kickoff event for Phantom Bride IPA will be held Oct. 5 at Slidebar in Fullerton, Calif. For a limited time, fans will get the chance to taste the beer on tap beginning at 8PM. Deftones will not be present at Slidebar for the inaugural pours.
