It is a sad day in the metal community as Lamb of God and Dethklok are forced to cancel their upcoming tour that was slated to start in Seattle, WA. Even worse, they were scheduled to play here in Grand Rapids, MI at the Delta Plex!
If you love metal like I do, you most likely have heard of GWAR! These guys are not from earth, they are from another world! They have decided that before they take over this puny world, they are going to dominate North America one venue at a time! So why not make a stop in Grand Rapids, MI?
HELLYEAH's new album Band of Brothers was released this past week! If you like heavy and hard driving metal, well, Band of Brothers may be for you! The guy's of HellYeah have gone back to their roots and brought back some of the sounds of the bands they have been inspired by or have played in. Basically meaning you get a record full of Mudvayne, Damage Plan, Pantera, and NothingFace. Not a bad combo! I chatted with drummer Vinnie Paul and Tom Maxwell, and they want you to know how this record goes! HELLYEAH!
When I was growing up, I played a lot more Nintendo 64. Now my brother on the other hand had a Playstation. To me at the time, the graphics looked all pixelated, blockey, and whatever. Nintendo 64 seemed so much better to me! Nintendo 64 however, lacked a lot of amazing titles. Games like Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil, were all on Playstation. One game though really impressed the heck out me though, was Metal Gear Solid.
Check out FULL METAL JACKIE tonight as she is joined by Matt Heafy of TRIVIUM as they talk about the Trespass America Festival which just kicked off!
Also getting to a new MAD MINUTE with Oderus Urungus of GWAR!
Starts tonight at 10pm! Don't miss it on 97
Lot's of crap has been surrounding this group a lot lately. Recently, lead vocalist Randy Blythe was accused of murder by pushing a crazed fan off stage and was arrested and placed in a Czech prison. Metal artist all around are out to support Randy on his innocence! So I think it's a good idea to give this week's METAL MOMENT to LAMB OF GOD!
Video games are a juggernaut today! They are making more money that movies and music sales combined! Gaming wasn't always on the top like it is today though, it has had it ups and it downs. The Great Video Game Crash of 1983 to the huge success of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). When video game were re-imagined to the scene in the late 80's early 90's Nintendo threw a World Wide Championship contest named Nintendo World Championships 1990! Which birthed the HOLY GRAIL of all game collectors!
This game gave me so much stress as a kid, I am pretty sure I developed some sort of psychological complex to where I just see this game in my collection, I get angry! I mean seriously, this game was meant for kids, so why does it have to be so DIFFICULT! If you know about this game, I am sure that you broke at least 8 controllers from playing it.
Check out Full Metal Jackie Tonight as she is joined by Jesse Leach of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and Jeremy Spencer of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in celebration of kicking off the TRESPASS AMERICA FESTIVAL!
Also getting to music from Slayer, Watain, and more!
Tonight at 10pm on 97
Survival horror games have been one of my favorite genre of games forever! Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Splatterhouse, blood, guts...I love that stuff in games. Survival horror games were at the peak of popularity in the late 90's and early 2000's, so every game developer was trying to cash in on the freak show of games. Then Illbleed came around, and was quickly forgotten.

Down has been working on 4 new EP's that will be released throughout the year, and in support of those upcoming EP's. Phil and the boys have set out for a small tour!
