In video games, if it moves, shoot it! Back in the 90's, it was all about light gun games. Plastic guns that you shoot at the TV. Games like Duck Hunt, House of the Dead, Time Crisis, all ruled the arcade. There was on game though that got a console port, and it is till insanely fun!
I could be considered a Rock on the Range Hipster by saying, "I was going to Rock on the Range before it was cool." Before this huge festival sold out 2 years in a row, I was attending it when you could still walk up to the ticket booth and purchase tickets. Here are some of my favorite memories of 5 years of Rock on the Range.
I have been listening to Full Metal Jackie for what seems like years now. Strangely enough, I have talked to her through phone chatter, email, and even Facebook. At Rock on the Range this past weekend, the METAL WORLDS COLLIDED as we had to snap a picture of a Metal God (Yea right...) and Metal Goddess!
Professional photography is not my thing. The only actual camera I have is on my phone. I did get this certain phone because of it's megapixel amount though. While hanging out in the Avenged Sevenfold meet and greet, I noticed this cute little dog. Little did I know, this dog belonged to Synester Gates of A7X, and an opportunity presented itself.
Along with all of the great bands performing this past weekend at Rock on the Range, there was plenty of other great things to do! As a video gamer, there was one place that I was required to stop by. Video Games? Rock? Playstation had what I needed!
I have been a Rock on the Ranger for over 4 years. I missed last year because I was busy getting married and such. This year though, WGRD was crazy enough to send me to Rock on the Range to cover it for them giving me an all access pass to basically anywhere. Here is just a few of the people I met on Day 1!
Besides all of the amazing bands that performing this weekend at Rock on the Range, it is your one stop shop for all of your rock wear! Do you need a skull mask? T-shirt with some sort of crazy saying on it? Something that says 'I Love Vagina?" Then Rock on the Range is your one stop shop!
I was pretty excited for the awesomeness that is Rock on the Range this year. Honestly, there wasn't a ton of bands I was excited for the first day, except for one. Down was slated to perform this year and I love this band. The on-stage mannerisms of Phil Anselmo are just as entertaining as they were back then. This year though, Down brought on quite the show with 2 VERY special guests!
In West Michigan, we sadly do not have one of these great fast food joints. Many people have wondered why we don't have one of these, and I have even driven 2 hours just for these fine little burgers. On the way to Rock on the Range, we had to make a stop at one of the greatest places of all time!
I have worked in retail for a number of years. When I wasn't dealing with horrible customers that felt as though I owed them the world, I was worried about how the store looked. Specifically when I worked at GameStop in Rivertown Crossings Mall. I think people moved games and had fun by putting them in the wrong spot so I would get pissed trying to find it, and I would get PISSED! Then this happened.
