I've never been good at filling these things out, but here it goes. I like long walks in cold mountain air, preferably with snow on the ground. I enjoy drinking fine soda by the crackling fire, and deep tissue massage. I hope to one day grow up an become and astronaut, so I can fly to Venus to see if that's really where women come from. If it's true, I'll bring one back for you, too. Unless it's a dude you want, and then you're out of luck...sorry. My favorite month is October, because Halloween is the best holiday ever! It allows me to openly proclaim my love and obsession with scary movies without being seen as some sort of lunatic. Okay, not too much of a lunatic. I'm a huge fan of rock and metal music, and you'll often hear me blasting the control room speakers into oblivion every night during my show. My engineer doesn't like me very much, since he has to fix them. Sorry, Mike.

The First Really Scary Movie of 2014 Could Be “Haunt” – Check Out the Movie Trailer[Video]

I love me some scary movies! If given a choice of things to see, my first pick will almost always be the scariest movie showing. A lot of times I'm disappointed with what I call the "Hollywood Ending" that most movies give. They like to wrap it all up with some unbelievable schlock that almost ruins the rest of the movie.

Ice, Fog and the Great Plains – Wayland Tour Log 3/2/14

Freezing!!! Our bus isn't insulated at all and there are many holes in it. We don't notice when it's sitting still with the heat cranked, but when we're going 70mph across the Kansas in 2 degree weather, it tends to be all we can think about. I can't get warm. I'm in my bunk, in my sleeping bag, under 2 blankets, and my feet are so cold they might fall off. Because the storm came through the area, we decided not to make the drive to KC last night. It was super foggy and slippery.

Coming Down the Mountain! – Wayland Tour Log 3/1/14

Yesterday was a crazy Friday. We loaded into the club at our usual 5 p.m.

Once we loaded in and sound-checked, Mitch and I started walking to meet our friend Ryan for dinner. It was a 35-minute walk to the Thai restaurant. We laughed the whole way there and talked about out plans for the next few months. Ryan ended up getting stuck at work and we had dinner -- just the two of us.

One Road Up a Mountain! – Wayland Tour Log 2/28/14

Wow! Back in the saddle again! We all spent the three "days off" working from morning to night.

Our days were filled with running errands, getting gear fixed, and booking shows, and planning tour routing. I don't think I set my phone down hardly at all during the break. My plan was to spend time with my guitar but there just wasn't enough hours in the day.

The Japanese are Freaking Insane – Here’s Metal Proof! [Video]

The Japanese are a little different in some of the stuff they like.  There are some things that are just different from us loony Americans.

Here, kids watch cartoons, in Japan, the adults watch Anime.

Here, metal is angry and screamed by angry-looking dudes who are really pissed off about stuff.

In Japan, their metal can be seriously different.  I mean, SERIOUSLY DIFFERENT!

Save the Boobs in Grand Rapids – This is Really Important!

The guy that owns the Showgirls Galleria on Market here on the outskirts of downtown, Mark London, is doing something horrible…he's selling the business for someone to destroy!
“It’s going to be very dependent on what they want to do there,” said London of his asking price for the 2-acre property on the outskirts of downtown. “Ideally, it would be someone who wanted to clear the site and put up something really nice.”

You know what's really nice, Mr. London?  Boobs.

I’m New in Grand Rapids – Where Do I Go For Great Mexican Food?

Hey guys, you've probably figured out by now that I'm new in Grand Rapids, and with the Alien Polar Vortex thing dominating the country, I haven't been able to get out too much.  But I want to, and I need a guide to all the cool stuff in Grand Rapids.

I want to start with something easy, since everyone likes food.

What Hot Wings Thinks – It’s All About Art – in Cartoon Form [Video]

Yesterday morning, Hot Wings offered his thoughts on something that is really troublesome to me.  I like to create things, and consider myself an "artist" at some things, even if my art may not be the most appealing to everyone.

But there's a LOT of "art" that is just junk.  Crap.  Garbage.

In this case, literally.

Controversial Kurt Cobain Statue Goes Up in Nirvana Frontman’s Home Town of Aberdeen

Kurt Cobain would have turned 47 a few days ago, and on April 5th it will be twenty years since his suicide.  Nirvana gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10th.  Big year for Nirvana fans, including those in his hometown of Aberdeen, since they got a statue of Kurt that looks like Jesus playing a guitar, and a mural is being worked on, too!
