Johnnie Walker

I've never been good at filling these things out, but here it goes. I like long walks in cold mountain air, preferably with snow on the ground. I enjoy drinking fine soda by the crackling fire, and deep tissue massage. I hope to one day grow up an become and astronaut, so I can fly to Venus to see if that's really where women come from. If it's true, I'll bring one back for you, too. Unless it's a dude you want, and then you're out of luck...sorry. My favorite month is October, because Halloween is the best holiday ever! It allows me to openly proclaim my love and obsession with scary movies without being seen as some sort of lunatic. Okay, not too much of a lunatic. I'm a huge fan of rock and metal music, and you'll often hear me blasting the control room speakers into oblivion every night during my show. My engineer doesn't like me very much, since he has to fix them. Sorry, Mike.

Scientists Are Creating Evil Insectobots; Did We Learn Nothing From ‘Terminator?’

The world is already scary enough…haven't we been punished enough with Jersey Shore, the Kardashians, and Facebook?

Why aren't these damn scientists taking heed of the lessons taught to us by "The Terminator" and other movies about the evils of artificial intelligence?

Cyberdyne created robots and built Skynet. End of the human race.

What was one of the early steps to building a sentient computer?  Probably a f****** robot bug, that's what!

How to Tell When Men and Women Are Horny – Are There Differences?

I followed a link from one of my friends on Facebook today, even though it took me to Cosmopolitan magazine's website.

Why?

Because it was titled "Signs a Woman is Horny!"

What could possibly be a better thing to learn?

Wow, women are complex. Guys, here are some tips from a chick mag, to help us out!

Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants Us to Get to the Choppa – On QVC?

I'm really excited about the new Arnold movie coming out this weekend, Sabotage.  There's a bad-ass red band trailer you can check out, that takes you back to the old days when Arnold was kicking ass and blowing up everyone.

This is what I like from Arnold, and now that he's not in public office anymore, he's gone back full-bore into movies.

Flashing Back to 1993 to Relive Awesome Tool Videos [Video]

Playing "Sober" a few minutes ago reminded me of when I first found Tool.  Can you believe it was more than 20 years ago that "Undertow" came out?

I couldn't even hear the music the first time I saw the video for "Sober." I was at a bar/restaurant or something and it was on the TV, but it really grabbed me.

It was dark and weird, and that's something I've always turned toward. So, when I got home, I had to find out what this things was.

Heading North! – Wayland Tour Log 3/19/14

The final batch of Florida shows on this run are over. The last show, at Aces on St Patty's Day, was one that we'll all remember for a long time. It was a benefit to raise money for an anti-child abuse organization.

We had so many friends come out! Some we've known since our first trip to Florida and others that we just met. It was so cool to see people from all over the state make the trip to say goodbye till next time!

I know there's a few Florida warriors even coming to The Intersection on April 5!

Metallica has been talking about working on a new album for a while, and they've actually gotten started!  Jackie played for you the demo of the first song, "The Lords of Summer"!

No telling if this song will make the album, or in what form!  Different lyrics, rearranged...we will have to wait and see.

But for now, check out Metallica's official "Garage Demo" of the song, and a 10 camera edit of the first live performance of the song!

Get Ready for Chevelle’s Visit to Grand Rapids with Some Live Videos

I'm really looking forward to checking out Chevelle again in a few weeks, when they hit The Orbit Room on April 21st!  I've seen them a couple of times, and they're a great band.

The last time I saw them was on the Carnival of Madness tour a couple years ago, with Halestorm and Cavo.  Chevelle rocked the show, and I'm looking forward to hearing some of the new songs from their upcoming album, "La Gargola", which comes out on April 1st.  No joke.

Check Out Living Colour’s Rig Rundowns – The Most Complicated Setups EVER

The coolest thing about YouTube is the access we now have to guitar stuff.  Rig rundowns, guitar lessons, gear reviews where we can actually hear the stuff...and you can see how your favorite guitar players get the sounds they get!

And, of course, the lovely Rebecca Dirks.  Although she seems to have disappeared from all the recent Rig Rundowns.  I'm sad.

Check out this RR she did with the guys in Living Colour.  Not only are they great players, they perform at such a high level while navigating the most complicated setups I've ever seen!
