Detroit Red Wings Captain Nicklas Lidstrom Retires After 20 Seasons

It's the news we all dreaded but were expecting nonetheless. Detroit Red Wings captain and surefire hall of fame defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom announced his retirement today at a press conference at Joe Louis Arena. Lidstrom's announcement wraps up a 20-year career that included four Stanley Cups and seven Norris Trophies.

Halestorm Drummer Arejay Hale Gushes About New Album, Rock on the Range + More

It's been a few days since the 2012 edition of Rock on the Range came to a close Sunday night (May 20). We're still recovering from the long weekend, but enjoyed every minute of it. We were able to talk to some awesome bands in Columbus, OH during the festival. One of those bands was Halestorm, who performed on the main stage Saturday afternoon. Rise Against to Bring Their Fall Tour to the DeltaPlex in Grand Rapids

It's been a busy year for Chicago punk rockers Rise Against. They have been touring almost non-stop with A Day to Remember throughout the world, and will make a few appearances at the Vans Warped Tour during the summer. The band apparently hates resting because they have announced a string of fall dates in continued support of their sixth studio album, Endgame, and Grand Rapids is one of them.

[Photos] Slash Brings Hall of Fame Sound to the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids

Slash has been on quite the roll recently. The guitarist was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month with his old Guns N' Roses bandmates (minus Axl Rose). His new album, Apocalyptic Love, drops in stores next Tuesday (May 22) and is currently touring with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators to promote the record.
