After a year and a half of renovations, a Grand Rapids area golf course is ready to debut a new dining experience.

Railside Golf Club in Byron Center's clubhouse has undergone a $1 Million makeover. The dining room and bar area have been renovated, and a new 1,400 square food patio has been added. The restaurant has beautiful views of the gold course.

Recently a guest on Wood TV 8, Chef Ricky Lund describes the new restaurant as an elevated dining experience and "not your typical club fare". He likens the menu to something you find downtown Grand Rapids or downtown Chicago.

The food and drink menu were created with input from the Railside Golf Club's members. You'll find craft cocktails and a seasonal food menu with dishes created using local ingredients from businesses like Otto's Farm and Pebble Creek.

Appetizers include Mussels, Tuna, Wagyu Meatballs, and Bacon Brussels Sprouts. There's a selection of salads, burgers, and sandwiches. Entrees include Halibut, Strip Loin, Salmon, Railside Alfredo, and Amish Chicken. Check out the menu here.

Alder & Iron will be open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with brunch on Sunday 10a.m. to 2p.m. and then a limited menu until 4p.m. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, but beverage service is offered. Reservations can be made using Open Table.

There is also a private dining space for up to 30 people for special events like graduations and baby showers.

Alder & Iron's grand opening is April 30, 2024.
