Tyson Recalls Over 11M Chicken Strips Due to Metal Pieces

Check your freezer!

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service,  Tyson Foods, Inc. is recalling approximately 11,829,517 million pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strip products that may be contaminated with  pieces of metal.

It's an expansion of a recall back in March which consisted of 69,093 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strip products.

The recalled chicken was produced Oct. 1, 2018 through March 8, 2019 and has “Use By Dates” of Oct. 1, 2019 through March 7, 2020.

The products have establishment number “P-7221” on the back of the package; a full list can be found here.

Customers should not eat the recalled chicken. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
