In this case, it was to give West Michigan police a hard time... and a bit of a workout. (And us a good laugh!)

Members of the Walker Police Department recently spent some doing some non-traditional police work. They shared about an interesting animal encounter to Facebook.

Earlier this week they got a call about a rooster roaming around Johnson Park. Officers arrived to wrangle the fella, and things got rather "egg-citing"! Sounds like the rooster ruffled a few feathers...

OK. That's enough poultry puns... for now.

Rather than go peacefully, "Little Jerry Seinfeld" had other plans and gave chase.

Yes - that's what they named him! How great is that? He looks like a Little Jerry Seinfeld, doesn't he?

If you're not familiar... On the sitcom Seinfeld, Kramer once adopted a chicken and named him after his neighbor and pal Jerry.

Eventually Walker PD was able to wrangle the wayward rooster.
