Have It Your Way

In 1974, Burger King launched its “Have It Your Way” campaign, allowing customers customize their sandwiches however they wanted. The campaign even featured a catchy jingle with the lyrics, “Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce; special orders don’t upset us.”

The “Have It Your Way” campaign is still around today and has become closely associated with the Whopper, helping make the Whopper Burger King’s signature burger. The chain even offers a “Whopper Guarantee”: If your Whopper isn’t made as ordered or doesn’t meet expectations, Burger King says it’ll remake it on the spot or give you a QR code for a free Whopper on your next visit.
