
Two Campers Found Dead in Northern Michigan Park
Authorities are investigating after two people were found dead over the weekend at a remote campground in Isle Royale National Park in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Details of the Incident and Ranger Response
According to park officials, rangers got two separate reports around 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, of two deceased people at a backcountry campsite. Rangers hiked 11 miles overnight to reach the campground. They arrived early Sunday morning and confirmed that two people had died.
Investigation Status and Next Steps
The victims have not been identified, and the cause of death remains unknown. The National Park Service says the investigation is ongoing. Additional aerial and ground support arrived Monday to assist.
