At the end of January we told you that Wise Men Distillery in Kentwood was shutting down. The owners shared news of the closure to Facebook,
We have made the tough decision to close the distillery. We haven't been able to bounce back sense the pandemic. That being said, we want to thank you all for an amazing 6 years, and we will always have the memories.
Wise Men Distillery's downtown Grand Rapids taproom also shut down.

But then I noticed something popped up on their Facebook page... A graphic of a tree announcing "big things coming soon!" Then, the distillery revealed a new name and partnership:
Twisted Tap Distillery: "Crafting premium spirits & cocktails with the bold flavors of Twisted Tap Sugar Shack’s maple & black walnut products. Tradition meets innovation—one sip at a time!" Check out the new logo here.
Twisted Tap Sugar Shack is located in Caledonia and has been handcrafting all-natural, small-batch maple syrup for over 75 years.
And you'll still be able to get the Wise Men spirits you love as well under the "Legacy Line". One of the owners shares in the comments to a social media post,
We will be aging and blending the classics you love while also distilling craft seasonal spirits, putting a unique twist on tradition!
As far as location, Twisted Tap Distillery will be in the same building as Wise Men Distillery once was, at 4717 Broadmoor Ave SE Suite F in Kentwood. According to the owners it will be "getting a bit of a facelift."
