
The Last Remaining Grand Rapids TGI Fridays Has Shut Down
It's the end of an era, for sure. Grand Rapids has said goodbye to its final TGI Fridays restaurant.
Remember when Fridays were everywhere??

I often visited the one near Woodland Mall as I worked at a nearby restaurant (R.I.P., Ruby Tuesday). I definitely spent a lot of time at the TGI Fridays downtown Grand Rapids as it was right in the same building as our radios stations - so really a dream for happy hour after work!

Well, one by one, West Michigan's TGI Fridays restaurants have dwindled. In December, the location at Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grandville closed.

Prior to that, the Woodland Mall restaurant closed in 2020 and the downtown Fridays shuttered in 2015.
In its heyday, TGI Fridays had more than 600 locations nationwide. Now, after filing for bankruptcy in November, that's dwindled to 114, according to Fridays' website.

The very last Grand Rapids TGI Fridays was located at 3179 Alpine Ave NW... When I checked earlier this week, it was still listed on the TGI Fridays website and marked open according to Google... that has changed.

TGI Fridays on Alpine is now shown as permanently closed on Google and its no longer on the company's website. Calls to the restaurant have gone unanswered.
If you're wondering if any are still open in Michigan, the Southfield and Saginaw TGI Fridays are still listed as open on the company website.
