Rohit Manocha, Executive Chairman of TGI Fridays Inc. said in a release,

The primary driver of our financial challenges resulted from COVID-19 and our capital structure. This restructuring will allow our go-forward restaurants to proceed with an optimized corporate infrastructure that enables them to reach their full potential.

Just prior to the filing, TGI Fridays had shuttered 50 locations nationwide.

Another Michigan TGI Fridays Permanently Closes

The building in which I work downtown Grand Rapids once housed a TGI Fridays  - which was extra convenient for Happy Hour after work!

It was a sad day at the office when that location closed in 2015. In 2020, the TGI Fridays in Kentwood by Woodland Mall shut down.

Now, the TGI Fridays at Rivertown Mall in Grandville has also shut it doors.

Google lists the location at 3700 Rivertown Pkwy as permanently closed. It's also no longer listed on the company's website.

A contributor to the Grand Rapids Informed Facebook group shares,

TGI Fridays at Rivertown mall is PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Walked in today and was told they’re permanently closed as of this morning due to lack of business. The malls upper parking ramp closure near their entrance had a big part in that.

The website also still lists a restaurant at 2775 Tittabawassee Rd, Saginaw - however, Google has it marked "temporarily closed".
